Since 1998, the Goodwood Revival has been a three-day festival held in September at Goodwood Circuit. The event celebrates the types of road racing cars and motorcycles that competed during the circuit's original period from 1948 to 1966. The first Revival was held 50 years after the 9th Duke of Richmond and Gordon opened the motor racing track in 1948 by driving around the circuit in a Bristol 400, then Britain's state-of-the-art sporting saloon.
Attendees of the Goodwood Revival usually dress in period clothes to add to the nostalgic atmosphere. It's one of the world's most popular motor race meetings and the only event in the UK that recreates the golden era of motorsport from the 1950s and 1960s.
